Seminar/Library Use

In order to limit student roaming during Seminar period, the following policies refer to both student usage of the library and the computer labs during Seminar (block 8, White days).

• Students are required to have a pass signed prior to 8^th block for use of the library or computer lab by:  1) the class/content teacher the work is being done for, 2) the library media specialist and, 3) the Seminar teacher.
• The Seminar instructor makes the final determination if the student is to leave Seminar to go to the LMC – students may be expected by another teacher or have behavior/travel restrictions.
• Students must sign-in when coming to the library (name, seminar, time in, time out).
• Library/technology staff will ONLY sign students to return to their seminars - students WILL NOT be signed to another teacher or students’ locker “on the way back to Seminar.”
• At Seminar instructor request, library staff will call to let instructors know when students are leaving.
• Students who are not studying or attending to task will be asked to return to Seminar.

Student use of the library during the school day and SIP

Students are not required to have their agenda pre-signed by the librarian to drop-in to the library during the school day.  Classroom teachers may sign students to come to the library at their discretion.

During Student Improvement Time – SIP - (“club” time, “second SIP”), students may have a librarian pre-signed agenda, but it is not required.
