Editing Studio
Located in the
WHS Library
(the space
formerly known as the librarian's "office")
The lab is designed
to accommodate student projects of all kinds - from specific
class-assigned multimedia projects to individuals choosing to do a
project
for a class assignment option.
A sign-up notebook is located
just inside the room - divided into 45 minute
segments of time beginning at 7:30 am. Passes can be signed for
PLC Fridays beginning at 8:00 am!
Software available for use includes:
- Microsoft
MovieMaker3
- Microsoft
Producer for PowerPoint
- Microsoft
PhotoStory
- Adobe Elements (a mini
PhotoShop)
- OpenOffice Suite (including
Draw - PhotoShop compatible)
- Microsoft Office (with
Publisher)
Equipment
available for check-out includes:
- 5 Handicams with tripods (two use DVD+/-RW discs or memory
card, three use 8mm tape)
- 5 Mivica still cameras (use 3, 3/4" floppy disks, available
from Circulation Desk)
Editing
Equipment includes:
- Scanner
(graphics can be scanned and saved to the computer)
- Headphones
with attached mic for voice-over recording
- External
speakers
- 2, 2Gig
computers (these are NOT
networked at this time, so you need to bring everything you are
using to the station on CD, DVD, or other storage device or camera)
- Color
printer (to be used judicially)
I am
available to come to your classroom and do a quick PowerPoint
presentation
explaining elements of the lab to your students.
